As the Town of Miami continues to grow, the Town Manager and staff need updated demographic, economic, education, health, and housing data to inform planning and development. This information will provide new opportunities for the Town to apply for grants and address ongoing community challenges. Graduate urban planning students leveraged quantitative skills to gather and synthesize data from a variety of sources to create a “state of Miami” for the Town. Additionally, students used the data to identify planning problems, such as housing affordability, and complete a focused analysis to propose solutions.
