In 1988 the City of Bellevue launched the Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP), an opportunity for residents to propose and vote for improvements they’d like to see in their neighborhood. Despite the long history of the program, the city has never done a formal assessment of one of the improvement projects to see what value it provides to the community. This LCY project provides the first such assessment of an NEP project by looking at the community and individual-level health outcomes that have arisen as a result of street-scaping work in the Eastgate neighborhood.
