As part of their Senior Design Capstone course, Civil & Environmental Engineering students created designs for development of a new residential neighborhood in Bellevue, as well as a stormwater management plan for the site.
The City of Bellevue requested the design of a residential neighborhood that includes on and off site utility location and size, site layout and design, spec housing units, interior road design and access management to existing roadways, and cost estimate. One project group created designs for the site development, which was coordinated with a regional stormwater management project being designed by another group in the class. The regional storm water management structure serves the 50 acre development and contribution area surrounding the development. The group considered green designs that mitigate potential water quality issues.
