This project is about making the city of Marinette, Wisconsin, a more attractive place for young people as the community there is heavily dense with the older population. We looked closely at the city’s attractions, history, and what it is like now to figure out how to bring more young adults to Marinette. Our main focus was on understanding what young people want and need in a city. We studied things like where young people are moving, what kinds of jobs they look for, and what kind of life they want in Marinette. This information helped us suggest ways to make the city better for them. We started our research by first examining the demographics of the city to provide us with a clear picture of the city’s current youth population. We have enriched our analysis by
examining case studies of different cities that faced similar issues and managed to revitalize their communities. These case studies offered us an insight into proven strategies that could be adapted to the city of Marinette.

In addition to case studies, we also created a survey that had questions tailored for the younger generation. The survey had questions about what they like in a city, what kind of jobs they want, where they like to spend time, which social media they use the most, and the resources they tend to use when looking for jobs. Their answers helped us to know what changes to make in Marinette in order to engage more effectively with the youth. Based on all this information, we suggest several ways to make Marinette more attractive to young adults. Our goal is to make Marinette a lively, fun place where young people can find good jobs, enjoy living, and want to stay for a long time.
