This project was completed as part of a year-long partnership between the City of Ramsey and the University of Minnesota’s Resilient Communities Project (http://www.rcp.umn.edu). The goal of this project was to provide suggested preferred and alternative routes to close the Marsh Gap in the City of Ramsey’s “Circle of Ramsey” greenway system. Ramsey project lead Mark Riverblood collaborated with a team of students in Dr. Ying Song’s GEOG 5564 course to use GIS analysis to analyze and propose alternative trail routes that connect two open space areas in Ramsey, taking into account cost and maintenance costs, terrain, property ownership, and other factors. A final student report from this project is available.
