Pillars in Appleton, Wisconsin has been working to address multiple faces of homelessness in the area since 2019. This issue has been exacerbated by an increase in rent prices and lack of available rental units for homeless and low-income individuals (Arnold et al., 2022). The effects of homelessness can create detrimental downstream impacts, increasing the rate of issues associated with mental illness as well as alcohol and substance abuse (Liu &
Hwang 2021). This proposal outlines three promising approaches focused on increasing fidelity on a case management level, using an interorganizational specialist to lobby more resources, and the development of an efficient central organization structure.
