CSUSM students from AMD 421, Art and Social Change, under the direction of Dr. Kristin Moss and the Economic Development Team from San Marcos, California have been tasked with putting together a research report to aid in the development of a comprehensive public art master plan for San Marcos and the North City neighborhood. This project provides resources and tools to the City of San Marcos Office of Economic Development so they can move forward with plans for public art and to support cultural and economic growth. It includes best practices, existing design ideas for public art, student designs, tools, resources and survey data. Included are original design ideas for public art specific to the North City Neighborhood. These original ideas are examples, they may also become a part of any future marketing plans for North City.
