We offered to conduct a survey for the city to see if Seaside residents would want an urban harvest food share program. Our survey focused on the recommendations from residents about how they would like the program to be run and what trees are currently growing and producing fruit in the city. We focused on fruit trees in order to narrow down our search to Seaside residents who may not be professional gardeners, as fruit trees will be left on the property regardless of the current occupants’ level of gardening experience. We also surveyed existig fruit trees in the City of Seaside and looked at the adoption of a fruit share program in the city to distribute the locally-grown fruit.
