16 Peace Justice and Strong InstitutionsAdverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are traumatic experiences in childhood that include all forms of abuse, neglect, or household dysfunction. ACEs can have lifelong impacts on the health and well-being of an individual and their community. In Adams County, 15-20% of people reported a prevalence of 4 or more ACEs. This proposal outlines three effective evidence-based interventions focusing on building early childhood resilience, supporting positive parent-child interactions, and providing tools to community leaders that aim to decrease ACEs’ occurrence and impact and interrupt the transgenerational cycle of ACEs within Adams County.
